Managing Clients in the Sidebar – Overview & Cleanup Process

Overview

The new client management workflow in NDE aims to provide a clean, consistent, and user-friendly experience when creating and managing clients in the sidebar—across both desktop and mobile platforms.


One-Time Cleanup Script

Before rollout, a one-time script is executed for each customer to:

  • Remove duplicate clients

  • Remove clients with numbers instead of names

  • Eliminate inconsistencies and "noise" in the list

📌 Result: When users begin using the new workflow, they will see a clean client list with only one instance per client.

Note: If two clients previously had the exact same name, only one will be retained. The other must be manually recreated when needed.

  • Capture Session

  • Enter Summary Tabs

  • Mobile App (Text Summary Flow)

These interfaces now share a consistent UI and behavior, making it easier to work across devices and workflows.

Optimized Client Creation, Search & Verification in NDE

Overview

The latest NDE updates enhance how you create, search, and verify clients—improving accuracy, usability, and EHR alignment.


Optimized Client List Search

When opening the client list (via Capture Session or Enter Summary):

  • Clients are sorted by recent interaction

  • Results are grouped by:

    • Last 30 days

    • Older clients

  • Most relevant results appear at the top

🔎 “Interacted with” includes any client where an activity was initiated (e.g. summary started, client created—even if not finalized).


Manual Client Creation

You can now manually add clients from the client list interface:

  1. Click Add

  2. Enter the name

  3. The client is immediately created and visible in the list

🔧 This differs from the previous flow, where placeholder clients were auto-created. Now, client creation is fully intentional and user-driven.


Edit Client Names

If a client was imported with a typo or incorrect name, you can now:

  • Click into the client’s name

  • Edit and save

🛠️ Helpful for cleaning up old records or data imports.


Client Verification (EHR Link)

During documentation (e.g., in the note section):

  • A banner prompts you to verify that the client’s name and ID match their EHR record

  • Once verified, that client is permanently linked to the EHR

  • You’ll not be prompted again for that client

📌 Verification helps ensure data accuracy across NDE and the EHR system.
